White Eyeshadow
My secret weapon that can be used to enhance your natural beauty in an instant!
The brand doesn’t matter when it comes to this, the shade is what really makes the difference.
We’re looking for a solid white eyeshadow (you may find one in your current eyeshadow palettes) and glitter or shimmer can sometimes be useful. When in
doubt, chose a plain, opaque shade.
{insert diagram image here, shrink to fit, perhaps}
Now notice the diagram above is marked with red, in the places you can shadow with the white. The red is just for emphasis, as the white obviously
wouldn’t show up.
I’m sure with the popularity that contoring has gained (even with bronzers) you’ve all learned the trick of highlighting your brow bone with a lighter
shadow, but I included it just in case.
Now my favorite uses of the white shadow are near the eye area, but did you know that this little multi-tasker is great for accenting your lips, too?? Try
a little dust of shadow above the lip in what we call the “cupid’s bow” to define your upper lip line, giving you a pretty pout!
Now the red mark on the lower lip is definitely optional, but it goes great with your favorite lip gloss, adding extra shine to help them stand out!
Back to the eyes… a little white shadow in the outer corners is a perfect finishing touch after you’ve applied mascara. The reason being, that the
shadows cast from your full lashes can make it seem a little dark. Just a sweep of your wand and…Voila! brightness is back!
The mark along the crease and slightly on to the lower lid seems odd, right?
It’s applied after normal shadow to give shape to the lids whether your eyes are wide open or slighty shut. It’s more beneficial to girls like me with an
almond shaped eye, but mess around with it until you customize the look for you!
Now for the super fun part! Contoring and highlighting your eyes to help thin the appearance of your nose! This step is the whole reason I can leave the
house without full makeup and still feel polished! The trick to white shadow in the inner eye corner is to give and illusion with false shine that draws
others to look at your eyes. It also makes you look well-slept, even if you spent all night studying!!! Just a thin line of shadow along the lower eye
line. Then apply almost a circle of shadow up along the sides of the nose. This eliminates the dark shadow that is naturally cast and brightens the area
so the nose appears thinner, naturally! Pretty cool, huh?
One more note so that I don’t leave all my NightlifeGroupGirlies looking like backwards dalmations…BLEND, BLEND, BLEND!!! Sometimes it’s best to use the
heat from your fingertips to go over the areas we applied shadow to. The trick to wearing makeup WELL is to make it seem that you don’t have any on! That
way, you keep the boys guessing!
